Calling all Joker Fans from Pakistan

While Joker (the film) is full of misery, the glorification of victim-hood makes you appraise law absconders. It goes in line with what Imran Khan said a few weeks back in his historic UN Speech. Joker isn’t your typical DC Comic movie but it’s a DARK movie that tells you how a mental patient called Arthur evolved into Joker.

All I have are negative thoughts. — Joaquin Phoenix

You’ll never believe how Joaquin got to where he is today. Joaquin Phoenix as the JOKER literally owns every single frame. INSANE! It’s dark, disturbing, haunting, terrifying. A cinematic marvel. I did not really understand a few individuals were inclined to laugh at dark jokes; as if 1. they were the only ones getting them, as if 2 they did not get the gist of it.

The wits and wisdom, he evolved into. He hadn’t unlocked it in the times we see in this movie. These were his formative years. I think comparison can happen in similar timelines or storyline though. This was more Arthur than Joker and in that perspective, I felt Phoenix did a superb job. Arthur is still too nice, predictable, less chaotic. I feel I can see how this Joker evolved into Heath’s joker.

People need to read -  the Joker not Batman

I’d prefer Joaquin Phoenix in the the Batman Films. This paves the road to next line of movies for DC, hopefully, and the transition isn’t there yet. Val Kilmer, and George Clooney batman’s has no Jokers, and neither Joaquin Phoenix has a batman. I think the joker is one of the complex characters of DC, and telling origin stories of such characters is hardest portray, and even more hard to pull off. People forget Heath ledger’s joker, Jack Nicholson’s joker and Phoenix’s joker are a single character but from three different backgrounds. In other words we are talking about three different characters all together.

The worst part about having a mental illness is people expect you to behave as if you DONT, — a dialogue from the movie

Jack Nicholson also justified the Joker role. Watch Gotham tv show as well, true chaos they still need to unravel. And that one is the scariest one next to heath ledger. Jerome had a twin brother named Jeremiah who really became joker after Jerome died. And for Joaquin it was challenging. Do you think his performance has measured up to other iconic portrayals of the Joker? Loved the acting by Joaquin Pheonix and he will probably get an Oscar for it too but honestly I feel the only person who did justice to this role was none other than Heath Ledger with is wits and wisdom. He died for it.
